Can Labor and Industry Work Together to Address the Future of Work?b
At a critical time when employment laws are being debated, TheBridge brought labor and business together for a productive discussion about the future of work in the gig economy, how we got to where we are, where we're going and ways the two sides can work together. The San Francisco Chronicle turned the event into a live episode of the “It’s All Political” podcast, hosted
by Joe Garofoli. Click play to listen here:

It was an insightful conversation, with many perspectives represented. New connections were made and rare conversations among usual rivals turned into productive dialogues, and future meetings.
The on-demand economy has provided unprecedented flexibility to millions of workers and opened up a new conversation about worker benefits and classification. We discussed ways companies can continue to invest in upward mobility of their workers, opportunities to partner with labor, how both can work with lawmakers on forward looking policy solutions to benefit the entire ecosystem. And, of course, the issue on everyone's mind: California's AB5.
The panel conversation was moderated by Joe Garofoli, Senior political writer The San Francisco Chronicle, and host of the "It's All Political" podcast
