Impact at Scale: From Big Tech to Civic Tech

NOTICE: In light of recent and evolving developments around coronavirus (COVID-19), this event has been cancelled.

Have you ever considered a tour of public service? Now, more than ever, we’re seeing growing numbers of technologists bringing best practices from the tech industry to government agencies, non-profit organizations, and public benefit companies.

The civic tech community is about doing the greatest good, for the greatest number of people, in the greatest need. Their work positively impacts the lives of millions, including Veterans, immigrants, students, small business owners, Medicare beneficiaries, and many more.

Join moderator Cat Zakrzewski of The Washington Post for a conversation with Matt Cutts, Natalie Evans Harris, Sha Hwang, and Jen Pahlka about their experience serving in civic tech and the ethical choices they face. They'll share stories from the front lines, and talk about the challenges and opportunities of transforming how people experience government.
