TheBridge events are unique. They drive a conversation between the public and private sector, promote understanding and collaboration while catalyzing meaningful and lasting connections. TheBridge brought labor and business together for a productive discussion about the future of work in the gig economy and The San Francisco Chronicle turned our event into a live podcast episode! It was an insightful conversation, with many perspectives represented. New connections were made and rare conversations among usual rivals turned into productive dialogues, and future meetings.

The on-demand economy has provided unprecedented flexibility to millions of workers and opened up a new conversation about worker benefits and classification. We discussed ways companies can continue to invest in upward mobility of their workers, opportunities to partner with labor, how both can work with lawmakers on forward looking policy solutions to benefit the entire ecosystem. And, of course, the issue on everyone's mind: California's AB5.
