Q. Favorite spot for a coffee meeting? Peets or a local hole in the wall.
Q. Describe how a skill you learned in a previous job helped you in your current job. I learned to speak when I have a seat at the table. Now I make it a priority to add value in meetings by speaking at least once. I remind other professionals, especially young women, that they're present for a reason; it's important to share their voices.
Q. Job advice in three words? Invest in yourself.
Q. How are you (or your company, org, nonprofit) currently bridging the gap between innovation and regulation? My organization, The Global Good Fund, invests in ideas that unite people across political ideologies. The most compelling forms of innovation make sense for business and society.
Q. What can innovators learn from policymakers? Foster leadership skills that translate across communities to create positive social and economic impact.
Q. What can policymakers learn from innovators? Invest in leaders that reflect the community. The most practical innovations often stem from people on the front line who understand firsthand their community's most pressing challenges and opportunities.
Q. Favorite book/podcast/long-form article you recommend? I'm reading The Art of Being Unreasonable by Eli Broad. This book is for those moments when you're trying to create something out of nothing.
Q. Living person you admire? My husband. He brings humor and calm to our lives.
Q. Last time you were completely unplugged? Every day during family dinner.
Q. Morning routine? Wake up, express gratitude, get little people ready for the day, eat a big breakfast, wash, dress, launch!
Q. If you had to live in another city, which would it be? I live in the country, so any city would be a big change. I'd like to return to a city in India to experience living in a place with a completely different culture from home.
