Q. Why are you part of TheBridge community? TheBridge is a nerve center for tech policy, government and media—all connected by the interest in the impact and role of technology in society. Having these connections will enrich my work with stakeholders in Washington and around the world.
Q. Job advice in three words? Believe in yourself.
Q. How are you (or your company, org, nonprofit) currently bridging the gap between innovation and regulation? We create space for thought leaders, innovators, decision makers and politicians to share insights, advance solutions, develop new ideas, and find common ground.
Q. What can innovators learn from policymakers? Always think of the common good and appreciate how your ideas will impact the end user.
Q. What can policymakers learn from innovators? Don’t see obstacles as insurmountable and find inspiration from change.
Q. Favorite book/podcast/long-form article you recommend? The NYT Daily podcast. It’s a thoughtful podcast, easily digested, that touches on timely, informative and provocative issues.
Q. What’s one piece of advice you are still trying to master? Avoid micromanaging.
Q. Most underrated virtue in an employee? Kindness.
Q. Last time you were completely unplugged? Binge watching Orange is the New Black!
Q. Which Member of Congress/local lawmaker is the most tech savvy? A few: Will Hurd, Ro Khanna, Eric Swalwell, Anna Eshoo and Suzan DelBene.
