Q. Favorite spot for a coffee meeting? Teaism on H St NW

Q. Describe how a skill you learned in a previous job helped you in your current job. Patience with people, but not with results. Each of us are flawed, but we can still work together to enable results that matter.

Q. Job advice in three words? Best team now

Q. How are you (or your company, org, nonprofit) currently bridging the gap between politics and tech / innovation and regulation? At Connected DMV we sit at the intersection of industry, academia, government, and community. We drive strategic initiatives through a collaborative model and utilize the respective sectors working together to bridge the gap.

Q. What can innovators learn from policymakers? Innovators can better identify and help to establish standards that allow policy makers to take solid positions. In a connected world, standardization enables interoperability.

Q. What can policymakers learn from innovators? Policies need to flex as innovations advance business and operating models. Frequently policy is viewed as immovable.

Q. Everyday is probably different, but can you describe a "day in the life" of your job? Working each day across industry, academia, government, and community on specific projects that advance the infrastructures of our underserved communities.

Q. Why are you part of TheBridge community? Or, why do you think it's important this community exists for tech, policy and political professionals? I am part of the Bridge as I believe that tight ecosystems are the best and fastest ways to advance new models and solutions. In years past the tech community relied on developing solutions in their respective silos. Tomorrow's best solutions are interconnected, requiring active collaboration across sectors.

In an interconnected, interdependent world, the most underrated virtue may just be interpersonal flexibility...adapting to a wide variety of people and solutions to enable better solutions.

Q. If you had to live in another city, which would it be? If I had to live in another city, I'd choose the next one! We've enjoyed all of the places we've lived.

Q. Best advice you’ve received? You've got to really, really, really care...but not that much. To me this means doing our best but being willing to live peaceably with the outcomes.
