Q. How are you currently bridging the gap between innovation and regulation? I utilize my cybersecurity skills to improve public and private relationships. In my current role at Intel, I am a Senior Application Security Engineer focused on the secure development lifecycle (SDL) of hardware, software, and firmware. As a product security leader, I establish baseline metrics that increase impact to drive change resulting in reduced risks, increased security assurance, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Q. Job advice in three words? Study, learn, share!
Q. What can innovators learn from policymakers? Innovators can begin to understand how and why tradeoffs are made for the greater good as policy makers are often charged with balancing national security and domestic priorities.
Q. What can policymakers learn from innovators? Policy makers can begin to understand how to evolve policies from innovators and gain efficiencies and increase effectiveness of policies.
Q. Can you describe a skill you have carried throughout your career that has always proved to be valuable? My interpersonal skills have helped me to build authentic relationships with individuals whose roles were anywhere from boots on the ground all the way up to CEO. We are more alike than different regardless of our titles or standings in the community. Our most important common thread is our shared humanity. Empathy and compassion has allowed me to develop deeper relationships and build quality connections with people of similar value systems.
Q. What is the best job interview question you have ever been asked? What is not on your resume? It is impossible to capture 36 years of professional work experience in a resume. The question of "what is not on your resume" allowed me the opportunity to elaborate on the wisdom that I have gained over the years and the value that I bring to the table.

Q. Most underrated virtue in an employee? In a word, authenticity. Environments are primed for and welcome the synergy between authentic employees to bring their whole selves to work can unleash boundless, bold and bodacious innovation.

Q. How do you unwind after work? I like to walk my dog and listen to an audio book.
Q. Last time you were completely unplugged? I went to a wellness resort and spa last year where phones and other electronics were discouraged. Being completely unplugged helped to enhance my self-care experience. I left the resort refreshed with a reinforced commitment to excellence in all of my endeavors.
